Legoland!

There was a 90% chance of rain, but that didn't stop us. And why should it have? I mean, once every 9 minutes it stopped raining. The rest of the time it was POURING. But we still managed to have fun.
Lilli really liked the little lego cows.

Daddy rode a lego train with Tipton and Lilli.

Donna and I rode the lego planes with Tipton and Lilli

Then we got some lunch. We were fortunate to find a table undercover. After lunch Dave purchased our souvenirs for the trip - disposable Lego rain ponchos!

Next Dave and Lilli and I went up in the view tower ride. Donna stayed in the lego village with Tipton. He did NOT want to leave. He would have stayed in the little lego village all day if we'd let him. But anyway, back to the view tower ride. It went just slow enough to make you queasy. If it had gone a little faster we would have been fine. If it had gone a little slower we would have been fine. But it didn't. Dave and I were so busy trying to get a decent picture of the three of us on the "ride" that we didn't look out the window until we were almost to the top. But Lilli did! Check us out in our lego raincoats:

And now for some pictures of cool lego structures.
They even had an airport! (The Bilund, DK airport) And they had the Concord!
Lilli sits on Daddy's shoulders while waiting in line for a ride.
Tipton on the lego safari ride. This would have been much cooler if the cars went just a little faster so that the lego animals weren't just a blur as you sped by. We ended up getting a few pictures of the lego animals when we were on a different (slower) ride. The lego elephants were really cool - they made elephant sounds when you went by them! (And they were built to scale!) I also really liked the flamingos. I like how they had them in different poses.
Next we rode the boats. Tipton wanted to ride with Donna. And Dave didn't want to look "ridiculous" riding in a boat by himself. So he rode with Lilli and I rode by myself - yet again making the ultimate sacrifice. (Earlier in the day I had traded umbrellas with him so he could have the more manly striped umbrella, instead of the girlie flowery umbrella.)
They had all kinds of famous buildings/structures/landmarks on the little boat ride. Here are some of them.
Me and Lilli waiting in line for a ride.
Tipton riding the "big" lego train. (This is the ride we were on when we got the "better" pictures of the animals from the lego animal safari ride. Look - you can see a girafe in the background!)
Here's Donna taking a picture of us on the helicopter ride. And here's me and Lilli on the helicopter ride. Dave tried to get a picture of him and Tipton on the ride, but Tipton the helicopter kept going up and down and Dave never got a decent shot (or even halfway decent - I mean, if there had been a picture with at least part of the both of them I would have posted it.)
Somehow Dave managed to escape this particular ride. It's just as well, there is NO WAY his legs would have fit in the tiny car. It needed a little more leg room and some back support!
Hey, look! Life size lego mariachis!
Tipton got to drive these little cars. Lilli wasn't big enough, so she and Donna and I hung out at one of the nearby lego block tables. Dave had my camera, though, so I didn't get a picture of the awesome lego tower that Lilli built.
There was even a NASA lego section!
After a long, soggy day of admiring lego creations and squeezing into tiny seats on many lego rides, we ate dinner at the Family Buffet. They had a little buffet table just for kids. It had lego-shaped fries and star/anchor/seahorse shaped fish sticks and nuggets and meatballs and all kinds of kid friendly foods. None of which Tipton or Lilli would eat, of course.
Then we began the long drive back home. We were going to spend the night there, but after the rainy weather we all decided that we'd just rather go home and sleep in our own beds. Here is one of the bridges we drove over.
And here is a sign for a town called Middlfart. Fart. Hee hee! Yes, we are 7 years old and laughed out loud every time we saw a sign for this town. So of course we had to take a picture. There was also a town called Assens. Hee hee hee. Got a picture of that, too!
It may have been rainy, but I think the kids had a good time.
