The Elephant Pool

One summer we were visiting Dave's parents. It was a hot day. Kay and I went to Toys R Us to buy a little wading pool for the kids to splash in. We came home with the elephant pool. It is the best wading pool! I have never seen another one like it. It is hard, molded plastic. There is an elephant head shaped into one side of it, with the trunk extending into the middle of the pool. You connect the hose to the underside of the trunk and when you turn the water on, it squirts up out of the trunk. The kids LOVE it!

Tipton discovered that if you put your hand over the top of the trunk and then take it off, the water shoots up really high!

Lilli plays catch with Papa.

Lilli loves to get her head wet.

Such a sweet little girl!
But this is her true personality!

Such a handsome young man - what a nice smile!

Dave, relaxing. He's got a nice smile, too.

Grama Kay with her one and only granddaughter. She waited a LONG time to get a little girl! But I think she'd agree that it was definitely worth the wait!

After a while of playing, Lilli decided that she was done. So we took off her suit and wrapped her in a towel and she was happy to sit in Grama Kay's lap while Tipton continued playing. Then we got out the bubbles, and Lilli wanted back in the pool. I didn't want to put a cold, wet swim suit on her, so we let her go 'au naturel.' The kids thought it was really cool that the bubbles would stick to their wet bodies, and they kept asking us to blow bubbles on them.

***I had some really cute pictures of the kids with bubbles stuck all over them, but Dave freaked out because Lilli was naked and I was posting them on a public blog. You'll just have to take my word for how cute they were. They were really, really cute.***

It was so nice to see Tipton having fun after such a rough start to our vacation!

Lilli's expression in this photo just cracks me up!
