Christmas Eve

The kids were very excited on Christmas Eve. We took them to a playground to let them burn off some energy.
Lilli pokes her head out of one of the holes in the weird egg-type things.
Tipton and Daddy climbed up and down the astro-turf covered mounds.

Tipton and Lilli played hide-and-seek in the weird egg-type things.

Daddy helped Lilli climb up one of the astro-turf covered mounds.

Lilli plays in the sand.
Look at that concentration! And check out her new hat. (Why can't I actually make hats that FIT the recipients? I even measured and made guage on this one!)

Daddy and Tipton played a little soccer.

I took advantage of the quiet time that afternoon to do a little last minute gift wrapping - Lilli was napping and Tipton was playing quietly in the playroom. Donna had ordered an Elmo doll for Lilli and I told her I'd wrap it. This is how Elmo appeared when I took him out of the shipping envelope.

Donna said she had to pay extra to have Elmo kidnapped.

Now, in Sweden they play a Donald Duck cartoon at 3:00pm on Christmas Eve. Everyone watches it. Everyone. You stop what you are doing and sit down and watch. We couldn't NOT be a part of that. So at 3:00 on Christmas Eve...

It started with an old Christmas cartoon.
And then Kalle Anka (Donald Duck).

Tipton had a hard time sitting still.
We had lasagna for dinner, of course, and called Great-Grama to wish her a happy 97th birthday. The kids had baths and got to wear the St Lucia costumes to bed. Their bedtime story was The Night Before Christmas.
